Emotional health, wellbeing and PSHE

Children and young people's emotional, psychological and social states affect their ability to learn and can also impact on their physical health (both as a child and as an adult). Schools can play a key role in helping children and young people (including those who are identified as needing extra support) to build emotional resilience, enabling them to deal with their emotions and understand how to treat other people, which in turn helps them to react to stressful situations more effectively.

Good social, emotional and psychological health helps protect children against emotional and behavioural problems, violence and crime, teenage pregnancy and the misuse of drugs and alcohol
