Bone Health for Children and Young People

It is vitally important for children and young people to build strong bones to maximise their bone strength later in life. Although osteoporosis may be a condition seen mostly in the elderly, bones are at their peak strength between 25 and 35 years of age. Taking steps early in life to promote good bone health is a key message for children, teenagers and young adults.

The National Osteoporosis Society have a helfpul leaflet Children and Bone Health available free to download from their website.
