Public Health are thrilled to introduce Jameelah who will be leading on the Somerset Children and Young People's Survey, developing an exciting programme of PSHE CPD for teachers and updating the Somerset Health Improvement Award.

We are very pleased to announce the start of a new project to support emotional wellbeing for young people. The Schools Health and Resilience Education Project (SHARE) has been commissioned as part of Somerset's Local Transformation Plan which sets out to transform services and support around children & young people's mental health.
Public Health are facilitating a two-day Tuning into Kids accredited training for staff in Somerset.
Tuning in to Kids is an evidence-based parenting programme that focuses on the emotional connection between parents and children using Emotion Coaching.
Rise Above for Schools resources have been co-created with young people. Rise Above is designed for young people aged 11-16 and aims to prevent them from engaging in exploratory risky behaviours and helps to promote good mental health. The lesson plans have been accredited by the PSHE Association.
New dates are now available for schools to visit Frogmary Green Farm which now includes a purpose build classroom - The SHED (Schools' Health Education Den). The farm caters for all age groups and visits can include educational sessions on crops, machinery, chickens, renewable energy, growing and cooking.
The Anti-Bullying Alliance are leading this year's theme which is to promote difference and equality with the strap line 'All Different, All Equal' and have produced downloadable resources for schools. We have also provided schools with additional materials to help promote wellbeing and resilience.
Somerset County Council are changing the way they support children and families in Somerset including changes to Children's Centres. We want to hear from schools and settings about what they think this should look like. Please take part in the consultation to help us get this right.
