New PSHE CPD Launch

Public Health are running a Stakeholder’s Day to launch of the new PSHE teacher training programme led by Somerset County Council.

The PSHE training stakeholder day will be an opportunity for you to meet the new training provider who will be leading on the local PSHE teacher training programme.   We intend that the day will build a community of PSHE ambassadors who will champion the programme locally. It is our intention to have shared commitment to the development and wellbeing of young people in the county.  We will be keen to hear your thoughts and ideas on the needs of young people, schools and staff prior to the design and delivery of the course next year.

Intended objectives for the day are:

1 - To ensure the new PSHE model meets the needs of children and young people in Somerset

2 - To agree the PSHE framework for the 2018 Somerset PSHE Teacher Training Programme

3 – To leave with an understanding of the tools and techniques that can be used to deliver to improve PSHE practice and lead group facilitation

4- To be well informed about the new programme and have fun!

The day will run from 10-4pm on 7th December at Frogmary Green Farm - West Street  - South Petherton TA13 5DJ. Unfortunately lunch will not be provided but there will be snacks and refreshments available for you on the day.   Please can you confirm your attendance by 24th November 2017 as we only have 30 places available. Please do share this invitation with colleagues whom you feel can contribute to this new and exciting programme for Somerset. To register for the day please contact Jameelah Ingram on
